  • The material of our WORLDDOMEHOUSE has been rated as Grade 2 Semi-nonflammable material by a government institution of Korea Institute of Construction Technology. There is no need to worry about fire. Additionally, the surface of internal and external parts of the material is finished with double layer of fiber-reinforced mesh and cement mortar.

    twitter

  • It can be applied to any facility which demands energy efficiency including large-scale accommodation facility, pension, detached house, country house, maisonette, marine pension, greenhouse, low-temperature storage facility, cold storage facility, movable house and greenhouse, etc.

  • Thickness of each panel is 180mm and widths and heights vary from 1,150mm wide and 300mm high respectively, depending on the requirements.

Basic type is 5,600mm wide and for expansion type, the width can be increased by 1,150mm to left and right.

However, expansion-type and tunnel-type dome houses except basic type should be reinforced by inside steel frameworks for structural strength.

When reinforced by steel materials, the structure and reinforcing steel frames are to be warped by internal mesh works and finished by woodworks for the interior, which will bring perfect finish and reinforcement.

Even though the basic height of our WORLDDOMEHOUSE is 3.2 meters, it can be constructed higher by laying bricks in an area where the structural body meets building foundation for added height. For instance, one meter height increase will make the house look like a huge building and the building will draw lots of attention.

  • Originally, the basic shape of WORLDDOMEHOUSE was like a hemisphere which is similar to an igloo for Eskimos. Through our R&D, we have developed roof designs which have same shapes of other ordinary houses, but still maintain the benefits of our dome house.

With our newly developed straight-lined wall unit and large-size ceiling material, you can construct various forms of buildings like school, hospital and most ordinary buildings. Using H-beam for column part and reinforced concrete for foundation like in ordinary buildings, you can construct higher than 2 story buildings.

  • Warm in the winter and cool in summer! You don’t have to keep the boiler on during winter season. Thanks to the sunlight coming through the window, you just need minimum heating in the morning and the temperature maintains during the day. In summer, hot sunlight cannot heat outside wall panel and penetrate into the room, which shows the average 5 to 10 degrees of temperature differences between inside and outside of the room even without air-conditioning.

    Save heating and air-conditioning cost

Comfortable living environment thanks to smooth circulation of internal air flow

It is basically strong against most natural disasters like earthquake (due to its light-weight property of the structure), tsunami, typhoon (safe in strong windy areas because every cross wind is flowing over the dome house on acute angle).

When used as accommodation purpose like pension and lodging, it provides romantic atmosphere to see the stars and moon at night.

  • Materials of WORLDDOMEHOUSE consist of 10 different types with individually different shapes, and the weight of one piece is about 10kg.

    twitter

  • In measuring the time taken for the interior temperature to drop from 20℃ to 0℃ of outside temperature without heating sources in completely enclosed room, our WORLDDOMEHOUSE takes 28.4 hours, compared with 8.8 hours in ordinary concrete house, which means you could enjoy more than three times of insulation and energy saving effects. Sandwich panel has even shorter times, of course.

    twitter

  • Construction period is about a month which is shorter than that of a ordinary house and construction cost is low as well. Especially in overseas market, if the panel manufacturing plant is constructed and the panel is produced locally, construction costs could be dramatically reduced.

In addition, the panel is sufficiently light and small to be carried by one person, which greatly reduces transportation costs as well.

More important thing is that energy saving of heating and air-conditioning costs in winter and summer is outstanding, compared with in ordinary houses.

  • WORLDDOMEHOUSE materials are fully rust-free and indefectible and have no damages caused by insects such as ants and roaches and no corrosions by seawater and salt.

It offers excellent insulation and soundproofing capabilities and is especially strong against earthquake and typhoons.

Service life of WORLDDOMEHOUSE is the same with ordinary houses.

  • Thanks to the flexibility of expanded polystyrene, stability of dome type structure, combination of cement mortar and high-strength fiber mesh and high compressive strength, WORLDDOMEHOUSE has no problems with 2 meter high snow.

    twitter

  • Up to 85m2~90m2 can be loaded in case that only basic materials of WORLDDOMEHOUSE are loaded. If other additional subsidiary materials like mortar, ceiling top light, urethane foam, etc., are included, fewer materials can be loaded.

    twitter

  • Raw materials for dome house are manufactured during the petrochemical process where the oil is refined and can be purchased in any country having oil refinery facilities.

    twitter

  • In general, it takes about 25 ~ 30 days (50m2), but it may vary depending on the areas and supply of workforce and materials. Weather is the most important factor and for example, if it rains, drying takes more time due to moisture.

    twitter

  • 3 ~ 4 workers and one day are sufficient to assemble the basic unit. (based on 66m2 basic type)

    twitter

  • For lead-in of electrical wires, grooves are made on EPS materials and finished with cement and mesh in order that the wires are not exposed to outside. Areas where the wires are led in are completely enclosed, forming a vacuum state.

    twitter

  • Mesh which is used in the dome house resembles a mosquito net. It is made of 2~3mm long and wide and dense and reinforced fiber materials. If these fibers are stacked, the meshes are used for a bullet-proof helmet liner.

When constructing a dome house, cement mortar and several other materials are mixed in order to increase adhesive capability and the reinforced fiber mesh work is applied twice, which gives extreme strength not to be damaged even if it is hit by a hammer.

    twitter

  • The dome house can be basically heated by under-floor boiler (oil or gas boiler) or electric panel.

For air-conditioning, ordinary air-conditioners can be used; for the wall-mounted air-conditioner, it can be fixed to a column of the bathroom or wall unit.

    twitter

  • For the inside of the dome house, environment-friendly wall paint or handy coat can be used because the shape of the building is round. For the wall unit, ordinary wallpapers can be used.

Because the exterior of the dome house has been treated with two times mesh works and thoroughly cleaned, the surface can be finished with regular paint or silicon paint. To highlight door and window frames, different colors are used that the dome house can be looked really attractive.

    twitter

  • The excellence of the dome house built in the coastal area became well known to the people when USA’s NBC reported that most houses built in the beach area were completely destroyed by the hurricane Ivan that hit Florida in 2004, but the dome house survived safely.

Dome house not only has the advantage which is safe in strong windy areas like typhoon, but it can also protect the corrosions caused by the salt because it is not basically a steel structure.

    twitter

  • Because the exterior of the dome house is finished with cement, bricks or small stone materials and wooden deck are recommended because most of dome houses are built in suburban areas.

  • It is a construction method that the owner can construct the building by himself with more reasonable costs, which include the construction of frameworks by WORLDDOMEHOUSE and the other remaining construction works are done by the owner such as windows, electricity, tile, wall unit, etc.

In other words, after the owner carries out concrete foundation work (including piping and electricity lead-in) in a predefined dimension, we assemble and fix WORLDDOMEHOUSE panels. Subsequently, an electrician hired by the owner leads in electrical wires into the dome house and we perform finishing works with cement mortar and mesh works for the surface of the exterior and interior parts of the dome house.

Our construction works include framework and waterproofing at the construction site where the foundation work has been completed. Remaining works are done by the owner including windows and doors, electricity, tile and walls.

  • Dome House can be built with two types of foundation works, which are dry method and wet method.

When constructing the foundation work using wet method, the dome house and foundation concrete (30CM) are fixed with reinforced fiber mesh and cement mortar and therefore, the dome house cannot be moved.

When constructing the foundation with dry method, the floor is constructed with plywood, sandwich panel and “jangpan (floor paper)” on the rebar pipes, which enables the move of the dome house with folk lift and truck.

However, the basic type cannot be moved due to 5.6 meters width, which limits its move due to the widths of the roads. On the other hand, movable type is just 3.5 meters wide and it can be easily moved.

    twitter

  • Average construction cost for basic type is 3 million won (single-story) and the costs vary depending on the options. Various options include raised foundation, top-class windows, outside boiler room and storage etc., and the prices are in the rage from 3,200,000 to 3,300,000 won.

Accurate quotation will be available after the confirmation about whether to construct one 26m2 building or a package of several buildings and about the overall conditions of the construction site.

  • Provided materials and services include concrete placing (30cm), boiler, floor paper, bathroom and toilet wares, windows and doors, bulbs and front door which are all required for ordinary house. The owner only needs to prepare for furniture like wardrobe, sink and shoe cabinet, etc. Furniture and built-in wardrobe can be made when a carpenter comes in for woodworks.

    twitter

  • For the power supply of WORLDDOMEHOUSE, solar heat or solar light can be used. Electricity manufacturing cost using solar light is more than 10 million won, whereas that using solar heat is about half.

Electricity which is produced from solar energy could give some energy to electric appliances, but will not be sufficient.

However, thanks to its outstanding insulation effect, it could be considered to have relatively higher efficiency effect compared with other houses.

  • In winter, if you turn on the heater once in the morning, warm temperature is maintained for all day. Starting from morning, additional sunlight starts to warm the inside of the room and therefore, additional heating is not required. Basically, the temperatures are in the range from 20 ~ 25℃ during the day (on a sunny day).

Many current users of our WORLDDOMEHOUSEs don’t use the heating during the day. We recommend installing curtains to block the strong direct sun rays. According to one of our customers who live in WORLDDOMEHOUSE, it is not hot in summer even though he uses just an electric fan. With the curtain closed and the door open, temperature differences between indoor and outdoor are about 5~10℃. He said it was like taking a rest under a bridge.

  • Condensed dews are produced by the temperature differences between outside and inside.

The area where the floor is constructed with dry method using plywood and sandwich panel and where the floor is heated by electric heating wires didn’t produce the condensed dews because the floor is not placed with concrete.

The foundation where the concrete is placed produced condensed dews without exception.

Close examination of the reasons of condensed dew production showed that ordinary house doesn’t produce condensed dews because the insulation is not good and therefore, the boiler should be turned, and as soon as the floor starts to dry, the upper part starts to dry too, and subsequently, the moistures which are drying inside the room are discharged to the outside through the wall and windows. However, our WORLDDOMEHOUSE has some moisture at the window side which has the lowest insulation because our house has outstanding insulation capability and wall parts which are constructed with high-compressed Styrofoam don’t discharge the moistures to the outside.

This looks like condensed dews but actually, it is not. Even though the house needs at least one year to be dried, it doesn’t have sufficient time to be dried because the owner moves in just after the completion in autumn and the winter immediately follows but, the owner cannot live the door open in winter, which brings no air circulation.

In order to solve this problem, we installed the windows with double window and additionally applied the polycarbonates (렉산) around the top light on the ceiling and finally, we could completely block the condensed dews.
